The Australian Stock Market ASX and it's History
The Australian Stock Market ( ASX ) is the Primary stock market in Australia. It is where investors go to trade their Australian shares and securities.
Think of a stock market as your local fruit and veg market.... People go there to buy and sell. The only difference is that they are not buying and selling fruit but shares. These days everything is handled electronically through a system called SEATS.
Stocks or shares that are listed on the Australian Stock Exchange are all given a three letter code.Eg ASX .
Many people trade the Australian stock market for a myriad of reasons. To sell shares given to them. To buy shares they believe will go up in value to sell at a later date. Some people even trade shares on a daily basis to make a living. Whatever the reason and although trading shares always carries a degree of risk with it the stock market is always allot of fun.
